CAUTION

When finding images make certain an appropriate filter is selected for the images. For example if the filter is set to display only a particular folder, the system CANNOT find images belonging to another folder. For this reason it is recommended the filter be set to “ALL” when finding images and subjects.

Finding images by looking up the subject

A subject’s image(s) may be located by entering any data that will identify the subject. To this end, the Find Subjects Via… dropdown is available, listing all the subject fields.

To avoid the possibility of finding the wrong subject, it is recommended that the unique field be used for this purpose. When using a non-unique field. such as “Name”, care should be taken to ensure that the correct subject is selected.

To find a subject:

  1. Select the desired field for lookup, e.g., ID

  2. Place the cursor in the subject window

  3. Enter the subject’s value for this field, e.g., 11575

  4. The subject’s first image will be displayed and selected (highlighted) in the main window

  5. If the subject has more than one image, use the Next arrow to find and select the next image in the matched set.

TIP

The subject may also be found by scanning the /%S Find Subject barcode commonly used in CapturePost for example.

When scanning a /%S barcode is not necessary to select a lookup field or place the cursor in the lookup window.

Finding an image matched to a folder or family

The procedure above can be used for finding images matched to a folder or a family. Simply search in the folder or family window as needed rather than the subject window.

Finding a specific image by number, filename, or tag

An image may be located independently from subject data by entering its image number, full filename with extension or tag (image file name without extension).

To find an image:

  1. Select whether to find the image by number or tag. When searching by filename, select the Tag option.

  2. Place the cursor in the entry window

  3. Enter the desired image information (Image number, filename, or tag)

  4. The image will be displayed and selected

TIP

An image may also be found by scanning the /%I Find Image barcode.

When scanning a /%I barcode it is not  necessary to select a lookup field or place the cursor in the lookup window.

Images matched to folders may be found by entering the folder’s name in the folder lookup window.
