Setting Prices in IOS

Prev Next

Package prices are managed in the Timestone Administrator under the Offers/Packages tab. Once a package is created, the user should navigate to the Pricing tab on the right side of the screen. Currency options are available from a dropdown list. Prices are set per package by double-clicking on the value in the table. The user can also note whether the package should or should not have taxes applied by checking or unchecking the adjacent box.

In addition to the base price, the user can control the following:

  • Package price for # or more

  • Conditional prices

  • Chargeable options for Items

  • Chargeable options for Backgrounds

  • Chargeable options for Prompt Text

Alternate Price Lists

Both for # or more, and Conditional price lists are created by clicking the Green plus icon to the right of the price list. This prompts the user with the Package Price for window, Figure 2, and the option to add an additional price list. Clicking OK will add a column to the Prices area. The Base price will be automatically copied to the new column, allowing the user to make adjustments.

CAUTION

It is not possible to have more than one active alternate price list active on a single customer’s cart at a time. The first price list that becomes active will “win”. However, an offer may have multiple price lists configured in tsAdmin.

Pricing for # or more (Bulk Pricing)

This option allows the user to set discounted prices when a specific quantity (or more) of an item is added to the cart — useful for offering volume purchase discounts.

Example

A user wants to offer a $5 discount on the Wallet Package (Package 4, PK4) when a customer orders 3 or more sets. Once the standard packages and  base prices have been configured for an offer, the user can add a Bulk Price List.

  1. Click the New Price List button to create the secondary price list.

  2. In the # or more field, enter 3, then click OK.

  3. In the new 3 or more column, update the price for PK4 (Package 4: 16 Wallets) from $30 to $25

  4. Click Submit changes.

Figure 3: The 3 or more price lists in tsAdmin. Note that all the prices remain the same except PK4, which has been reduced by $5

Customers online will initially see the base price of $30. Once they add three or more of Package 4 to their cart, the price in the cart automatically adjusts to $25 per package.

NOTE

The # or more price list only applies if the packages are identical. If a customer orders three different customizations of the package they will not recieve the discount.

Conditional Price Lists

Conditional pricing allows the user to dictate “Magic” pricing based on predefined conditions, such as:

  • A second package at half price

  • A 3rd child is free

  • A discount once a certain monetary value is in the cart

  • Date-based promotional pricing

The User should define the condition in the Site Control panel, then enter the condition code in the appropriate field of the Package Price for the dialog window.

A very powerful feature of the Timestone Software Internet Ordering System  is the ability to create conditional price lists where the prices of Packages in an Offer are reduced depending on conditions the user has defined.

Extra Package Pricing

While not a full Conditional Price list, Cart and Shop extras can offer a simplified conditional price for a package. These Extra packages and their special prices are dependent on specific Qualifying Packages being added to the cart first.

Further Reading: Extra Packages

When creating an Offer for online ordering, it is possible to create ‘extra’ packages in addition to the main packages. These ‘Extras’ are created as either Shop Extras or Cart Extras, depending on where they will be displayed.

Chargeable Options

When offering chargeable Items or backgrounds in IOS, it is possible to make some or all of the options chargeable by grouping them by code. Unlike Prompt Text, where these customizations are handled as a single entity across the offer.

The video below acts as a brief introduction to all of the Chargeable Options available to the user.

Though the specifics change depending on the type of option, setting up a chargeable option is generally a two-part process:

  • Setting up the Option (Background, Item, Prompt Field)

  • Configuring the pricing structure
